Marketing & Communications Senior Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing & Communications Senior Specialist serves as the organization's lead marketing and communications professional, responsible for planning, developing, and executing a wide range of internal and external communication initiatives that advance the organization's strategic objectives and strengthen its brand. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative & Financial Officer, this highly independent individual contributor serves as a trusted communications partner to executive leadership and collaborates across departments to deliver high-quality marketing, branding, and communication solutions.
This position has primary responsibility for managing the organization's website and intranet, overseeing brand standards and employer branding initiatives, developing engaging digital and social media content, and supporting corporate communications that enhance employee engagement, organizational reputation, and recruitment efforts. The Senior Specialist exercises significant independent judgment, manages multiple concurrent priorities, and identifies opportunities to proactively improve communication strategies, digital presence, and brand awareness.
*The salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000 annually
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, implements, and manages internal and external marketing and communications initiatives that support the organization's strategic priorities and strengthen its brand.
- Serves as the primary administrator for the organization's external website and employee intranet, ensuring content is accurate, current, engaging, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develops, writes, edits, and distributes a wide variety of corporate communications, including executive communications, employee announcements, newsletters, presentations, digital content, and marketing collateral.
- Leads the organization's social media presence by developing content strategies, managing editorial calendars, publishing content, monitoring engagement, and recommending opportunities to expand audience reach.
- Partners with Human Resources and organizational leadership to develop and execute employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives that enhance the organization's ability to attract and retain talent.
- Maintains and promotes organizational brand standards by ensuring consistency across all communications, marketing materials, presentations, digital assets, and public-facing content.
- Collaborates with executive leadership and departments across the organization to develop communication strategies that support organizational initiatives, change management efforts, employee engagement, and operational priorities.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes marketing campaigns, community outreach initiatives, organizational events, and other communication activities that promote organizational goals.
- Independently manages multiple marketing and communications projects simultaneously, establishing priorities, coordinating resources, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Monitors marketing and communication performance metrics, prepares reports and recommendations, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement through data analysis, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
- Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, media representatives, and community partners as appropriate.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive organizational, employee, and business information while exercising sound judgment and professionalism in all communications.
- Serves as the organization's primary marketing and communications resource, exercising considerable independence, initiative, and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities.
- Partners closely with the Chief Administrative & Financial Officer and organizational leaders to support strategic communication and marketing initiatives.
- Develops and maintains communication calendars and project timelines to ensure timely delivery of marketing and communication activities.
- Creates engaging written and visual content that reflects the organization's mission, values, and brand identity.
- Reviews communications for quality, accuracy, grammar, consistency, and brand alignment prior to publication.
- Coordinates with external vendors, consultants, photographers, designers, printers, and digital service providers as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of current marketing, communications, social media, and digital engagement best practices and recommends innovative approaches to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrates professionalism, excellent customer service, and strong interpersonal skills while collaborating with physicians, leaders, employees, and external partners.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Supports the organization's Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic objectives.
- Attends meetings, events, and community activities as assigned, including occasional evening or early morning events.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.
- Proactively identifies, reports, and participates in the resolution of potential safety or operational concerns.
- Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, public relations, or corporate communications.
- Demonstrated success independently managing multiple complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Healthcare experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regular attendance in the Home Office (3 days per week)
- Daily operation of various office-based equipment: fax machine, telephone & voice mail operating system, stationary/lap top computer, e-mail system, cell phone, pager, copier, LCD projector
- Travel to various sites of service
- May be required to sit or stand (presentations/meetings) for extended periods of time
- May spend extended periods operating desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity; and communicating face-to-face, on the telephone and in writings
